Have you ever been in the mood to read something but didn't really have the time to jump into a new novel? There is a solution! It's called a "short story".
You've heard of these, right? Stories that are, you know, not so much with the length? Lately I've been doing a little short story reading and what I've discovered is that short stories are awesome.
There are all kinds of short story collections out there, but some of the more recent and popular ones that I have enjoyed have been from the young adult supernatural romance genre. (I know, you are just so surprised by this revelation.) Prom Nights From Hell, Immortal: Love Stories with Bite, and Love is Hell all feature stories by some of YA's hottest authors, including Scott Westerfeld (The Uglies); Meg Cabot (what hasn't she written?) and Stephenie Meyer (I hear she wrote some series that people have a passing interest in). Some of the them are just nice little stories and some of them (like the story by Evernight author Claudia Gray in Immortal) gives some nice background to a beloved series. What I really love about short stories is that you can usually read one in less than an hour. How awesome is that? It usually takes me twice that long just to check my email!
Has anyone else read any short stories lately? What do you like or dislike about them? What is your favorite? Talk to me!

M is for Magic is a really awesome short story book. I loved it, it had some really good ones, like how a cat protects its home from something evil, the Months get together and tell stories and other interesting ones.
May yellow and green camels follow you to the busstop and you're day be rained with Happy Drops!
